WHAT DO WE DO?

Parents at Carisbrooke are very generous with their time and volunteer for a wide range of activities,
with the overall goal to the benefit of the school and our children.
SCHOOL Community events
EXTRAMURAL ACTIVITIES
School Support
Fundraising
  • We promote school community development by organizing social activities and events for the students and Carisbrooke Community throughout the school year.
  • We promote additional education of our students by organizing extramural lunchtime activities, primarily in the winter months.

CPAC REVIEW SURVEY RESULTS 2018

We had 61 respondents for the CPAC Review survey which is great!  Thank you for your input.

Activities:
Respondents liked the activities that we organize with the Ice Cream Social being the favourite, followed by the Halloween Dance and the Year End BBQ.  The Multicultural Fair and CPAC Meetings were the least favoured.  Based in this information, we will not be hosting a Multicultural Fair this year but we still need to have the CPAC meetings as we are required to do so.

Programs:
All programs were well liked with Emergency Preparedness and Crossing Guard being the most favoured.  We will continue with all the programs.

  • We offer additional school support by maintaining flower gardens, providing crossing guards, preparing an Emergency Supply container, providing out-of-school care, co-ordinating Parent Education speakers, and arranging for Language Ambassadors for ESL speakers.
  • We fundraise in order to support these various activities, and to support specific items that will enhance our children's education, such as our annual projects.

CPAC Funding:
Respondents liked all the programs that the CPAC funding with funding field trips and health and body wellness workshops being the favourites.  No changes in what the CPAC funds occur in this coming year.

Fundraising:
Most of the Fundraisers were liked with Fun Lunch and the Card Project being the favourites and a Cheque Drive being the least favourite.  Based on this information we will continue with similar Fundraising initiatives as last year.  The Card Project may not happen as it is a lot of work for the teachers and it can be challenging for the teachers to plan and execute a fabulous piece of art so early in the year and it can be stressful to try and get every student to complete a great piece of art by the due date with absences etc.  A different time of year may be considered.  Or, perhaps we do this every second year.  We will keep you posted.

Thank you again for participating in the survey!
