EVENT SPECIFIC POSITIONS


​Here are various event-specific volunteer positions on the CPAC.
If you volunteer for these, you will be expected to help out for a one-time only event!  Woohoo!

SCHOOL COMMUNITY EVENTS

Halloween Dance - Coordinated by PAC Social Committee
  • Hours: 7-10 hours in Oct
  • Role: Plan and run annual Halloween Dance.
  • Number: 10 or more volunteers

​Art/Science Fair
  • Hours: 5-8 hours in March
  • Role: Plan and run annual fair.
  • Number: 5 volunteers

​Spring Social  Event -  Coordinated by PAC Social Committee
  • Hours: 7 to 14 hours in Feb/March or April/May
  • Role: Plan and run annual social event (adult or family).
  • Number: 7 or more volunteers

​Book Fair
  • Hours: 45 min slots at school before/recess/after Dec.
  • Role: Support library during Book Fair.
  • Number: 10 or more​ volunteers

Library Support​
  • Hours: 1 hr, 2-4 times/month
  • Role: Check books in/out, restock shelves, book exchange.
  • Number: 10 or more volunteers.

GRADE-HOSTED EVENTS

Kindergarten Welcome Coffee (Grade 2 parents)
  • Hours: 4-5 hours Aug/Sept First Full Day of Kindergarten
  • Role: Organize and serve Welcome Tea on first day of Kindergarten
  • Number: 2 co-ordinators and  4-5 other volunteers

​Welcome Coffee (Grade 3 parents)
  • Hours: 4-5 hours Aug/Sept First Day of school
  • Role: Organize and serve Welcome Tea on first day of school. 
  • Number: 2 co-ordinators and  4-5 other volunteers

​Ice Cream Social (Grade 4 parents)
  • Hours: 6-8 hours 2nd or 3rd week Sept
  • Role: Organise and manage Ice Cream Social.
  • Number: 2 co-ordinators and 10 or more other volunteers

Sports Day Hot Dogs (Grade 6 parents)
  • Hours: 4 hours in June
  • Role: Organise Hot Dog Fun Lunch on Sports Day.
  • Number: 4 volunteers

Grade 7 Tea (Grade 6 parents)
  • Hours: 5-10 hours in June
  • Role: Organise Grade 7 Tea on Graduation Day.
  • Number: 5 - 8 volunteers

EXTRAMURAL ACTIVITIES

Knitting and Crochet Club
  • Hours: 1 hour shifts (lunch) Jan to March
  • Role: Support teachers in keeping control, and offer knitting support.
  • Number: 2 per shift once a week for 5 weeks

Friday Lunch Time Activities
  • Hours: 1 hour shifts (lunch) on a Friday Dec to March
  • Role: Organize games in the library or art in the art room.
  • Number: 2 per shift once a week.

​Chess Club
  • Hours: 1 hour shifts (lunch) Jan to March
  • Role: Support Chess Master in keeping control.
  • Number: 2 per shift once a week for 5 weeks.
  • Do not need to know how to play chess.
