We are very happy this year to be able to offer a variety of After School programs from Carisbrooke (see below).  There are also alternate Out Of School providers which provide care for children from Carisbrooke.

Please note, the following programs are offered to Carisbrooke by both private and non-profit providers.  As such, CPAC is not responsible for the content of their programs. Please contact the provider directly for any questions you may have.

MONDAYS
Scratch Coding: Brick Breaker
Enhance your coding skills by creating a 'brick breaker' game. Perfect for students eager to learn game development and boost their programming abilities. 
No experience necessary!

TUESDAYS
Brainiac Adventures 
Come explore the power of strategic thinking through fun, engaging, hands-on and strategy-based board-games such as Chess, Mastermind, Blokus, Chinese Checkers, Match Madness, Codenames and many more. Enroll your child in this screen-free class that encourages critical thinking and problem-solving. In this adventure, students will learn the importance of planning, making thoughtful choices and understanding the reasons behind their decisions while playing games and having fun. The program will focus on teaching kids new board-games, strategic foundations, skill development and game strategy improvement. When playing chess, the focus will be on learning piece functions, openings, endgame tactics, variations and puzzles (depending on the skill level).

Farsi Dar BC 
Give your child the opportunity to learn Farsi in a fun and engaging way! This program follows British Columbia’s official Farsi curriculum, focusing on essential reading and writing skills. Our interactive approach makes language learning exciting through arts, music, storytelling, and hands-on crafts. 
  • Time: 3:00pm - 4:30 PM
  • Dates: Tuesdays April 21- June 6 (8  sessions) 
  • Grades: available to all grades and students of all backgrounds and Farsi levels are welcome!

WEDNESDAYS
Carisbrooke Karate for FUN/Self Defense 
Tiger's Eye Karate-do Certified black belt instructor will help children and young youth to develop a solid Foundation for self-discipline, focus, responsibility, respect, while increasing their strength, flexibility, coordination, control, balance and having FUN. Students will learn a variety of martial arts moves such as strikes, punches and blocks to the target. Our goal for every student is to make them the best that they can be and reach their full potential by goal setting, taking responsibility, confidence and self-esteem.
Note: New students are required to purchase Tiger's eye Karate uniform as it is mandatory to all students to attend classes with karate uniform on and it is NOT included in the registration fee. Please contact 604-616-5209 or email [email protected] to order one!

Monika ART Adventures 
Join us for an 12 week art program after school art program. Our classes will include a variety of crafts each week such as  painting, drawing, mixed media, FIMO sculpture, slime, as well as seasonal crafting perfect for artistic children to enjoy with a teacher from Monika's!
  • Time:  3:00 pm - 5:00 pm 
  • Dates:  Wednesday April 1 - June 17 ( 12 sessions) 
  • NOTE: April 29 and May 27 is early dismissal at 2pm and program will start at 2pm. Please pickup child by 4pm.

THURSDAYS
Grade K-2 Play-Bright Academy
Designed for early elementary students, this program teaches the fundamentals of basketball, soccer, volleyball, hockey, and racket sports in a fun, supportive setting. Kids explore movement through imagination games and cooperative activities that spark creativity and teamwork. All skills are taught with child-sized equipment and simple, easy-to-follow progressions. It’s the perfect introduction to sports for developing confidence and coordination.  Each participant gets a program T-shirt.

  • Dates:  Thursdays April 2-  June 18 ( 11 sessions)

LIGHTS UP MUSICAL THEATRE AFTERSCHOOL 
AT CARISBROOKE ELEMENTARY

Sing. Dance. Act. Shine!
At Lights Up Afterschool, your child can experience the joys and benefits of musical theatre by taking part in our afterschool programs led by our talented and experienced Lights Up Musical Theatre Schools’ staff. These classes are a unique introduction to our weekend musical theatre programs and provide students with an enriching, rewarding, and most of all, fun afterschool activity right at the bell!
SPRING SHOW: MARY POPPINS!
Fly into the magical, musical world of Mary Poppins! Inspired by the beloved films, “Mary Poppins” features iconic songs, exciting dances, and extraordinary imagination. From chimney sweeps to dancing penguins, it is sure to be supercalifragilisticexpialidocious!
Students will be supervised from dismissal. No need to pick up your child until 5:15pm!
Performance on the last day of classes for friends and family!

Wild Child 
Most after-school programs build a specific skill — Wild Child builds the child. In a technology-free, high-agency play environment, kids practice real world skills like decision-making, resilience, leadership, and social confidence. Through cooperative games, creative challenges, and guided risky play, they learn to navigate uncertainty rather than avoid it. Grounded in research on independence and youth mental health, this is structured freedom with purpose. It’s not just another activity; it’s where kids grow stronger from the inside out.​

STEM ROBOTICS / STEM CAMPS BC
In this hands-on, interactive program, young learners will participate in activities that combine science, technology, and engineering, through little projects in the most fun and engaging ways possible.
Through simple engineering challenges, kids will build, create, and discover while playing with different bricks, gears, connectors, motors, ... age-appropriate projects, allowing them to explore concepts of structure, force, or balance while collaborating and communicating with peers.
kids will dive into the world of technology through basic electricity components and directional programming. Class after class we encourage curiosity, critical thinking, teamwork as well a positive attitude toward new ideas, and a flexible mind.

Farsi After School

Creative Sewing/Embroidery Discover the world of stitching through hand sewing, embroidery/punch needling. Students learn basic techniques to create their mini projects. A fun, hands-on class perfect for young makers. No experience necessary!

Carisbrooke Karate for FUN/Self Defense

WINTER SHOW: HOW TO TRAIN YOUR DRAGON
How to train your dragon? Wonder no more!  This winter, Lights Up afterschool students will dive into a world of vikings, dragons, and unexpected friendship. Inspired by the popular Dreamworks movie, with our own musical twist, embark on a heroic adventure as we learn together...

FRIDAYS
North Shore Multi-Sport
We let the kids choose how we shape this programs by selecting a variety of sports and games (voted on by the kids!).Our program delivers fun, fitness, and skill development in every session. Youth build key movement patterns that transfer across all sports and boost their physical literacy through games and competitions. With a fun-first teaching style, kids learn multi-sport fundamentals while staying active. Each participant gets a program T-shirt.

STEM/ Robotics by Stem Camps BC

The following are private out-of-school care providers for Carisbrooke Elementary, and are listed for current and prospective parents for general information purposes only.  As such, CPAC may or may not support their philosophies and mandates.  If you would like to find out more information about their services, please contact the provider directly.

PLEASE NOTE: The Carisbrooke PAC is NOT responsible for the operations of these programs.  These programs are offered OFF the school grounds and the students will leave Carisbrooke grounds for the duration of the session.

Lil Bloomers childcare
Located at the church on the corner of east Windsor and St. George’s, they have recently expanded their program to include before and afterschool care.

Mira's Happy House:
Mira's Happy House is located at Holy Trinity School and provides before and after school care.  Students are picked up and dropped off at the school all days of the week. tel. 604-723-1494; e-mail: [email protected].

Park Place Daycare & Montessori:
