2020 CARISBROOKE SKI CLUB

For 2020 we’re pleased to offer students in grades 2-7 (minimum age is 7) the opportunity to partake in the ski program on Grouse Mountain with their schoolmates. We have 3 weekly ski lessons from 4:30-6:00 on 3 Tuesdays starting February 25th.

​Parent volunteers are needed each week for a variety of roles.  Please volunteer for one:

  • Minimum age is 7 years old.
  • Everyone must participate in the lesson to receive the quoted price.
  • A minimum of 5 students is required in each ability level in each sport (skiing or snowboarding).
  • Helmets are mandatory for students. If a student does not have a helmet, one will be supplied complimentary. This must be requested two weeks in advance.
  • We receive 1 complimentary escort ticket for every 5 students in Grades 2-3 and every 8 students in Grades 4-12.
  • Carpool drivers will also receive complimentary lift tickets and parking passes and must be specified at the time of booking.

Session Schedule

Each Tuesday:
  • 3:00 pm – Students depart Carisbrooke School with prearranged parent transportation.
  • 3:30 pm – Check in at the Gondola base with Carisbrooke staff/Parent Helper.
  • 3:45 pm – Last gondola to make rental pickup and lesson time.  Parent volunteers assist students with equipment rentals and lesson preparation.  If you miss the 3:45, you must bring your child up to rental hut or lesson area if they require adult supervision!
  • 4:30 pm – Lessons begin with Grouse Mountain Instructor.
  • 6:00 pm – Lessons end, check in with parent volunteer at lesson meeting area.
  • 6:25 pm – Check in with parent volunteer at top of Gondola and take Gondola down with supervising adult.
  • 6:45 pm – check out with parent volunteer at bottom of Gondola (if the mountain is busy, we will arrive on the next available Gondola)***Check IN and OUT location is the same:  by the Starbucks in the plaza.

Here are some suggestions for clothing:

  • thermal/sport socks
  • long johns/tights/sweatpants
  • warm waterproof jacket
  • warm waterproof pants
  • turtleneck
  • sweater or fleece
  • toque/hat
  • sun glasses/goggles
  • small plastic water bottle
  • warm waterproof gloves or mitts (not wool)
